Person - Centered Counselling
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, Diamond Mental Health and Wellbeing Counselling provides a safe and confidential space for you to talk to a person-centered trained professional about your issues and concerns.
So what exactly is counselling?
Counselling can take many different forms depending on your needs and what type of therapy may be suitable for you.
Most therapy takes place in planned, regular sessions lasting around 50 minutes. How often we see each other and how many sessions we have will depend on your individual circumstances.
We can meet face-to-face, talk over the phone or we could connect via a video call.
During a session we may explore different coping strategies designed to help with your problem, or we might just have more general discussions about how you are feeling. What we talk about varies depending on what you want help with and the best approach for your problem. It could include:
- Relationships
- Childhood
- feelings, emotions or thoughts
- Behaviour
- Past and present life events
- Situations you find difficult.
I will be impartial, but understanding. I will listen to you without judgement and help you explore your thoughts and emotions. I may offer helpful information, but I won't tell you what you should think or what you should do.
The benefits of counselling include:-
- Developing healthier coping strategies;
- Building resilience;
- Improvement in your emotional wellbeing;
- Gaining insight and self-awareness;
- Strengthening of your personal relationships, and
- feeling in control of your life.

Person-Centered Approach
I'm here to help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can work towards developing a better understanding of yourself and of others.
I'm not here to give you opinions, advice or prescribe medication. I'm here to help you find your own solutions - whether that's making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems.
Issues I can help with include:-
- Anxiety and panic attacks;
- Depression and low mood;
- Stress and burnout;
- Bereavement and loss
- Trauma and PTSD
- Relationship difficulties
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Life transitions
- Workplace stress, and
- Family issues.
